Main Responsibilities / Job Summary

1.Deliver purchasing financials on cost and cash flow

2.Define sourcing strategy and make alignment with all stake holders

3.Actively support all plants in productivity and PPM KPIs.

4.Ensure commercial settlements for new programs are done on time and at ZBC/ benchmark.

5.Track and update RM indexing.

6.Ensure supplier price changes are negotiated to optimal level and are approved by price committee.

7.Strengthen ZBC and benchmarking process

8.Ensure contracts are finalized and valid including warranty agreement (wherever applicable)

9.Support customer quotes with competitive supplier pricing.

10.Support flawless launches.

11.Ensure right capacity is build at supplier end to meet SMIL business plan for next 3 years.

12.Conduct and report supplier financial risk every year.

13.Develop team and ensure their alignment with SMIL’s objectives.

KPIs(Measurable parameters of the role) & Dimensions (What is the span of the role)

1.Supplier PPM below 150. Target 50

2.YOY material cost savings – min 3%

3.Cash improvement through payment terms extension – 75 days and JIT deliveries.

4.RM indexing and support customer recovery

5.Launch new part numbers at ZBC/ benchmark prices. Inline with customer quote.

6.Supplier capacity improvement and Zero delivery issues.

Staff reporting:

Direct Reports: 3 direct reports

Knowledge(Technical / Functional)

1.Product (ATS, suspension, assemblies)

2.Components – steel, sheet metal, machining, proprietary

3.ERP and computer (MS programs)

Skills –

1.Leadership and management skills

2.Drawing and spec reading + interpretation

3.Market analysis and business acumen

Qualifications –B. E. (Mech/ Prod). Any other Management course will be an added advantage.

Experience– Min 15 years in Tier 1 Automotive company in sourcing or purchasing function. Managing spend min Rs 200 Cr will be an added advantage.
