Manager / Senior Manager - Application Development

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Manager / Senior Manager - ApplicationDevelopment to join our team in Mumbai. This role is crucial for leading thedesign, development, and maintenance of our proprietary software applications. The ideal candidate will be a skilled software architect and leader with a strong background in building financial technology solutons. You will be responsible for our entire software development lifecycle,from concept to deployment, ensuring our applications are scalable, secure, and fully compliant with RBI and SEBI mandates.Key Responsibilities
- Software Development & Architecture
Lead the in-house design, development, and deployment of business-critical
applications for trading, risk management, and back-office operations. Define the technical architecture and technology stack for new applications, focusingon performance, scalability, and security. Write high-quality, maintainable code and oversee the work of the development teamthrough code reviews and mentorship. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and promote DevOps best practices toimprove the software delivery process.
- Application Security & Compliance
Integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
Ensure all applicaƟons are developed in accordance with theRBI's Master Direction on IT Framework for NBFCs. Manage application-level security, including vulnerability assessments and incidentresponse. Liaise with auditors and regulators on all matters related to application developmentand data security.
- Application Lifecycle Management
Supervise the entire lifecycle of applications, from requirements gathering to
retirement. Partner with business teams and traders to translate business needs into technicalspecifications and effective software solutons. Provide technical leadership in troubleshootng and resolving complex applicaƟonissues. Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating modern developer tools and AI-drivenplaƞorms.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring
Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of software developers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or arelated field. Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on software development experience,with at least 3+ years in a Tech Lead or Development Management role. Domain Expertise: Mandatory experience in the Indian financial services sector isrequired. Preference for candidates from NBFCs, Banks, Brokerage Firms, or FinTechcompanies. Regulatory Knowledge: Strong, practical understanding of the RBI's technology andcybersecurity framework is essential.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or
C++.
- Strong experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data
modeling.
- Proven experience with cloud plaƞorms (AWS, Azure) and developing cloud-
native applications.
- Hands-on experience with API design, microservices architecture, and
containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
Experience building low-latency trading or risk management systems. Direct experience with DevOps tools and managing infrastructure as code. Experience implementing or managing AI/ML solutions for analytics or risk.
