Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Chennai for a Senior Lead - Data Warehouse & Transactional Data Platforms. The role involves leading the development and maintenance of data warehouse solutions, overseeing ETL processes, ensuring data quality, and developing data models. Daily responsibilities include data analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business requirements, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy. The Senior Lead will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members and driving project leadership for data initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architect and lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable enterprise data warehouses to support advanced analytics and business intelligence.

• Integrate multiple transactional (OLTP) systems into unified data platforms.

• Design and manage robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable data movement and transformation.

• Perform L3-level troubleshooting and performance tuning, including complex query optimization.

• Design and implement data replication, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and resilience.

• Establish and enforce best practices in data governance, metadata management, and data security.

• Drive modernization initiatives such as real-time data streaming and adoption of cloud-native data architectures.

• Evaluate and implement modern data technologies such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, and others.

• Mentor and guide data engineering and architecture teams to foster technical excellence.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams to define data requirements and deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting capabilities and clear communication to support enterprise-wide data initiatives.

Technical Skills 

• Expert level proficiency in SQL 

• Proven experience in designing and building scalable data warehouse solutions 

• Strong understanding of Dimensional modelling (Star / Snowflake schemas) 

• Extensive hands-on experience in architecting and managing ETL/ ELT processes, tools and pipeline orchestration 

• Solid background in OLTP systems 

• Strong understanding of transactional database design, data modelling, and architecture.

• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure

Advanced Support Skills 

• Practical experience in Level 1 and Level 2 support workflows 

• L3 level trouble shooting and performance tuning, including query optimization. 

• Experience with data replication, backup strategies and disaster recovery planning 

• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security best practices 

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and strong communication skills to collaborate across technical and business teams

Qualifications
