Job Summary

Sambodhi Research and Communications Private Limited is seeking a Senior Impact Evaluation Specialist to lead large-scale impact evaluation studies. The role entails overall project management, team leadership, and serving as the primary client interface, with technical ownership of study design, analytical oversight, and report writing across all deliverables. The position requires the ability to independently conceptualize and manage complex evaluation designs, provide guidance on data analysis, and ensure high-quality, policy-relevant outputs while working closely with clients and stakeholders

Essential Functions

The candidate will perform the following key functions:

Project Management & Coordination

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
• Lead overall project coordination, including client liaison and close collaboration with field, data, and support teams across levels.
• Develop comprehensive resource plans outlining human, financial, and time requirements for project activities.
• Ensure timely submission of all key deliverables in line with agreed timelines and quality standards

Research Design & Methodology

• Provide technical inputs into the design of survey methodologies and evaluation frameworks.
• Lead the development, pre-testing, and finalization of data collection instruments and field protocols.
• Oversee the implementation of sampling strategies, including sample design and distribution.

Field Operations & Data Collection

• Keep an oversight on overall cconduct of field training, practice sessions, and debriefings to ensure adherence to protocols and data quality standards.

Data Management & Analysis

• Prepare comprehensive data analysis plans and protocols
• Analyze data using appropriate software programs viz. SPSS, STATA, SAS, EXCEL, CS Pro, EPI etc.

Report Writing and Knowledge Product Dissemination

• Provide technical inputs, reviews, and quality assurance for reports and other knowledge products.
• Prepare detailed analytical reports documenting research findings, insights, and policy implications.
• Develop learning and knowledge products for internal use and external dissemination.

Desired profile :

Education

Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in economics, statistics, mathematics, MTech, public policy

Experience

At least 10-12 years of experience in M&E, with at least 5 years of experience in designing and leading large impact evaluations. At least 2 prior projects/publication as author and lead where RCT or Natural Experiments methods were deployed. Proven track record in M&E and conducting rigorous program evaluations. Specific experience in monitoring and evaluation of public policy programs for at least 5 years would be preferable.

Key Skills and Attributes

• Fluency with both quantitative and qualitative research
• Professional fluency in oral and written English and Tamil is desirable.
• Working knowledge of MS office, STATA, or other statistical packages for data analysis
• Willing to travel across different geographies
