Senior Engineer – Stranding & Closing

Basic Requirement:

· The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and use problem solving tools.

· Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and electronic means.

· Knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and manufacturing technologies including mechanical conveying, piping systems, pumps, and instrumentation.

· Knowledge of maintenance processes including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.

· Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.

· Analytical and problem solving skills

Qualification:

· B. Tech (Mechanical)

Experience:

· 3 to 10 Years

1. Production Planning: Collaborate with production managers and planners to develop daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing machine utilization.

2. Stranding and Closing Operations: Manage and oversee the stranding and closing operations, ensuring that the wire drawing machines are operating efficiently and within specified parameters.

3. Machine Maintenance: Monitor and maintain wire stranding and closing machines to ensure they are in good working condition. Coordinate with maintenance teams for routine and corrective maintenance tasks.

4. Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the produced wire or cable meets industry standards and customer specifications. This includes regular inspections, testing, and adjustments to the production process.

5. Troubleshooting: Identify and address any operational issues or breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime and production interruptions. Analyze data to pinpoint the root causes of problems.

6. Process Improvement: Continuously look for ways to improve the stranding and closing processes, whether through optimizing settings, upgrading equipment, or implementing new technologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

7. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed by production staff. Conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.

8. Material Management: Oversee the inventory of raw materials, such as wire and cables, and coordinate with the procurement team to maintain an adequate supply of materials needed for production.

9. Documentation: Maintain records of production, quality control data, machine maintenance, and safety compliance. This documentation is important for quality assurance and audits.

10. Team Management: Supervise and provide leadership to the stranding and closing department staff, including machine operators and technicians. Manage their schedules and provide training and development opportunities.

11. Cost Control: Work to control production costs by optimizing resource utilization, minimizing waste, and ensuring efficient energy consumption.

12. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, quality control, and production planning, to ensure a seamless workflow and resolve any interdepartmental issues.

13. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations and standards related to wire and cable production, and ensure that the stranding and closing processes are in compliance.

14. Environmental Responsibility: Promote and adhere to environmentally friendly practices in production, which may include waste reduction and energy efficiency initiatives.

15. Continuous Education: Stay informed about advancements in wire and cable technology, production methods, and safety practices through workshops, seminars, and industry publications.
