This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer, Defect Management & DevOps in India.
In this role, you will lead defect management and DevOps initiatives to ensure high-quality, reliable delivery pipelines across cloud-native platforms. You will collaborate with engineering, QA, SRE, and product teams to optimize automation, observability, and operational processes. The position blends hands-on technical expertise with strategic oversight, driving continuous improvement in CI/CD pipelines, cloud operations, and defect lifecycle management. You will mentor junior engineers, define best practices, and provide guidance on complex technical issues, ensuring scalable, resilient, and efficient systems. The ideal candidate has strong AWS experience, familiarity with GCP, advanced DevOps and automation skills, and a passion for operational excellence in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
Accountabilities
- Act as the subject matter expert for defect management processes, governance, and reporting across multiple teams.
- Own the full defect lifecycle, including logging, triage, RCA, corrective actions, and closure, ensuring SLA compliance.
- Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS, GCP, and Git-based workflows, implementing best practices like blue/green and rolling updates.
- Design, implement, and optimize cloud-native solutions, containerized workloads, and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS).
- Develop dashboards, monitoring frameworks, and operational workflows for defect tracking, system observability, and performance insights.
- Lead RCA investigations, CAPA initiatives, and cross-team process improvements to drive operational maturity.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing coaching in DevOps principles, troubleshooting, automation, and defect analysis.
Requirements
- 6–10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, QA Engineering, or Cloud Operations.
- Expert-level knowledge of AWS services; GCP exposure is a plus.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, and automation frameworks like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and microservices architectures.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, or CloudWatch.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, ITIL, and change management processes.
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring capabilities, with experience presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
