Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer with strong expertise in food, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing & packaging machines, including special purpose machines (SPM) and automation systems. The candidate must have hands-on experience in machine design, automation integration, and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop processing, packaging, and special purpose machines for food, pharma, and chemical industries
• Prepare 2D & 3D mechanical designs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Develop machine layouts, GA drawings, part drawings, BOMs, and assembly drawings
• Work closely with automation, electrical, and control teams for PLC/servo/pneumatic integration
• Ensure designs comply with GMP, FDA, hygiene, safety, and industry standards
• Support manufacturing, fabrication, machining, and assembly teams during machine build
• Participate in machine trials, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting
• Optimize machine designs for cost, performance, reliability, and ease of maintenance
• Handle customer-specific customization and project documentation
• Coordinate with procurement and vendors for bought-out components
• Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards

Required Skills & Knowledge: Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of machine design for processing & packaging equipment
• Hands-on experience in SPM machines and automation systems
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (mandatory)
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, servo systems, conveyors, filling, sealing, labeling, and packaging mechanisms
• Understanding of materials (SS304/SS316), machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with GMP, hygiene design, pharma & food compliance standards
• Basic understanding of PLC, sensors, actuators, and control systems (coordination level)

Experience Requirement:

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in:
• Food processing machinery
• Pharma packaging or processing machines
• Chemical processing/packaging equipment
• Special Purpose Machines (SPM) with automation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in turnkey automation projects is an added advantage
• Exposure to validation documentation (DQ, IQ, OQ) is a plus
