Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee daily bookkeeping performed in Xero by junior team members.
2. Prepare monthly management accounts for review by the Head of Finance.
3. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and control account reviews.
4. Assist in preparing VAT returns, supplier payment schedules, and cash flow reports.
5. Collaborate with the FP&A team to analyze forecast vs actuals and identify key variances.
6. Review Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports for accuracy and consistency.
7. Ensure timely and correct posting of all month-end journals (payroll, depreciation, accruals, etc.).
8. Maintain the fixed asset register and lease schedules.
9. Assist in developing and documenting internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
10. Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and banks as required.

Key Requirements

1. Strong working knowledge of Xero, including custom reporting, bank feeds, and workflow automation.
2. Experience preparing full sets of accounts and management reports independently.
3. Solid understanding of UK GAAP and VAT compliance.
4. Strong analytical skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders.
6. Prior exposure to multi-currency accounting, invoice discounting, and FX tracking is preferred.
7. Familiarity with Linnworks, ClickUp, or other workflow/project management tools is a plus.

Qualifications

1. CA/ ACCA/ CIMA (Qualified/Semi-qualified) Mandatory.

2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B. Com / BAF / BBA).
3. Proven experience of 2–6 years in a similar accounting/management reporting role.
4. Proficiency in Excel and exposure to cloud-based accounting systems.
