Senior Accountant – US Accounting (Remote)

Job Summary:

A leading global services firm is looking to hire a Senior Accountant with deep expertise in US GAAP and hands-on experience managing accounting operations for US-based entities. The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of overall experience in accounting, including at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity, and 3+ years specifically handling US accounting standards and reporting. This is a remote role with opportunities to lead a distributed team and work closely with senior stakeholders across geographies.

Location:

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations for US-based clients/entities, including monthly/quarterly/annual closing under US GAAP
• Lead and supervise a team of accountants; manage work allocation, performance reviews, and training
• Review and finalize financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
• Ensure compliance with US accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare, review, and analyze P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and cross-functional teams for timely filings and audits
• Support system implementations and automation initiatives to improve accounting efficiency
• Provide insights and analysis to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes

Experience and Skillset Required:

• Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent)
• Candidates with M.Com or MBA (Finance) and strong hands-on experience in US Accounting (minimum 3+ years) may also be considered
• 8+ years of overall experience in accounting and finance
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in the finance and accounting department
• At least 3 years of direct experience in US Accounting/US GAAP
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and GAAP compliance
• Experience working with US-based clients or within US corporate structures
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar platforms
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage remote teams across time zones
• Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and detail-focused
