Synopsis of the Job : Senior Accountant- Solar Projects

Location: Tamil Nadu

Industry: Renewable Energy / Solar Projects

Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in project-based accounting

Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing end-to-end project accounting for solar power projects, ensuring statutory compliance, financial reporting, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Accounting: for CAPEX and OPEX.

• Track expenses against budgets and prepare cost analysis.

• Ensure accurate capitalization of assets after commissioning.

• Monitor vendor bills, site expenses, and material inward/outward registers.

• Compliance & Taxation:

• Prepare and file GST returns, TDS, and Professional Tax.

• Ensure compliance with MNRE, TANGEDCO, and other state regulatory requirements.

• Reporting & Controls:

• Prepare monthly MIS, cash flow statements, and budget variance reports.

• Coordinate with the site team and HO for fund flow and resource allocation.

• Handle statutory and internal audits – ensure timely closure with proper documentation.

• Payroll & Admin (as applicable):

• Process payroll for project-based and HO staff.

• Maintain records for contract labor payments and compliance.

• Liaison & Coordination:

• Coordinate with banks for project finance disbursement and interest tracking.

• Interact with EPC contractors, consultants, and government departments for payment and documentation.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Tally ERP, Excel, and preferably project management software (e.g., Primavera, SAP).

• Sound knowledge of solar industry taxation, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and project finance norms.

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams – engineering, procurement, and site teams.

• Good communication skills in Tamil and English.
