About The Role

We are seeking an experienced

Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for

testing and quality assurance

of enterprise applications, ensuring software meets functional and non-functional requirements. This role involves

both manual and automated testing

, test documentation, and collaboration with development and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. This is a predominantly remote role — please see the Remote Work & Communication Expectations section below for availability and collaboration requirements.

Remote Work & Communication Expectations

  • Work arrangement: Remote-first role with regular collaboration across distributed teams.
  • Core collaboration hours: Candidates are expected to be available to overlap with the team for at least 4 hours per working day. Typical core hours are 10:00–16:00 UTC; teams or client needs may define specific core windows depending on the project. Candidates should confirm and maintain reliable overlap with the project/team timezone.
  • Meetings: Occasional meetings outside core hours may be required (e.g., stakeholder calls with clients in other timezones). Flexibility to attend occasional early/late meetings is expected.
  • Communication standards: Strong written and verbal English is required. Candidates must be comfortable with remote communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps, Confluence). Clear, concise asynchronous communication is essential — this includes timely responses during agreed business hours, well-structured status updates, and thorough documentation of test plans and results.
  • Stakeholder interaction: Ability to proactively raise blockers, coordinate with remote developers and product owners, and lead/participate in virtual meetings and demos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and implement testing strategies, test plans, test processes, test scenarios, and test cases.
  • Identify test cases suitable for automation and create automated scripts.
  • Execute tests (manual and automated) for System Testing, System Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Perform functional and UI testing, as well as black-box and white-box testing as required.
  • Track defects, retest fixes, and certify software for production readiness.
  • Reconcile data between source and target systems during data migration testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure quality delivery.
  • Maintain test documentation, user manuals, and installation guides for automation scripts.
  • Provide guidance, best practices, and training to team members on test automation.
  • Monitor and report testing progress, risks, and status to project leads and managers.
  • Participate in production support, troubleshooting, and performance testing.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and organizational testing guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as an SDET or QA engineer with automation expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium (Java/C#) and Playwright for web automation.
  • Experience automating native Windows applications.
  • Knowledge of automation framework design.
  • Familiarity with Azure Test Plans and Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of technology environments like Azure, Azure SQL, MSSQL.
  • Experience with JMeter and SonarQube is a plus.
  • Experience with TOSCA for SAP or other native application testing is an advantage.

General Skills & Abilities

  • ISTQB certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated experience communicating clearly in remote and asynchronous environments (e.g., producing concise status updates, detailed test documentation, and actionable issue reports).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and lead discussions to consensus.
  • Leadership skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Desired Skills (Optional)

  • Experience in Banking or Financial domains.
  • Understanding of data governance and ability to identify data quality issues.
