Sap Finance Control Consultant

This role sits within the SAP project team of the client and will be working as part of the Plan/Build team of the Core Business IT Solutions. In this role, you will be working globally (Europe, Asia and the Americas) for all sites where client is located in the area of SAP Finance & Controlling (FICO), Allthough a lot of work can be done remotely, partial on-site (Drogenbos) & occasional (project phase dependent) delocated on-site availability will be required.

In this role you will be in the lead of the solution definition during client global SAP ECC roll-outs, major process improvement projects, integration projects (interfacing and digital transformations) and change requests. As a Solution Owner, you take ownership of the functional and technical solution in the domain of finance & controlling and you will safeguard the template and take decisions for changes and improvements in the tool.You take the functional/technical lead in your domain in our future S/4HANA migration.

In a project (or change request), your involvement can be required from start to end (design, realization, training of key-users & testing, cut-over, go-live & hypercare to Run), but you will always be invoived during the design phase. Occasionnally you can receive issue solving requests in escalation modus.

Your role will propose solutions and enhancements in the area of finance & controlling. You will drive a team of functional project and support analysts in configurating, documenting and unit testing business solutions according to the functional and technical requirements adhering to SAP ECC standard and our client specific standards as closely as possible. You will liaise remotely with a number of your colleagues across the globe but will be based in Belgium. 

You will be working in close collaboration with the Global Process Improvement Manager & IT Business Partners in your domain, and with the IT Functional Project and Support Analysts for FICO. Within a matrix organization you will report to the Head of Core Business IT Solutions.

• Functional Expertise
• Assist the business people to define the best possible solution for for operational requirements on sales & distribution & the integrations with other departments (x-functional flows)
• Understand, gather and document business requirements, create process flows (R2R) and take the lead in the project scoping and functional solution definition
• Technical Expertise
• Configure SAP Finance & Controlling.

Design, Develop and Configure the SAP system based on confirmed user requirements and the Global ERP template, putting importance on the efficiency and effectiveness according to the implementation.

• Translate business requirements into Functional and technical description documents (Soldocs) which serve as a basis in the development of the solution. Specifications consist of functional and technical requirements, defined solutions and specifications of customized programs to be developed by the SAP Application Development team.

• Contribute to the completion of specific change request, incident and project. being accountable for end-to-end financial processes and deliverables.
• Post go-Live (with Hypercare period) system support of the SAP ERP solution.
• Manage escalations by working with right party (such as Global Process Improvement Managers solution owners and other Functional Analysts) to resolve issues and change requests.
