About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SAP Archiving & Data Lifecycle Management Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and optimizing our SAP data archiving processes, with a strong focus on leveraging SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) to ensure data compliance, reduce data footprint, and improve system performance. You will play a key role in maintaining data integrity and accessibility while adhering to legal and business retention policies.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP Archiving Execution & Monitoring:

○ Perform regular archiving runs for various SAP objects (e.g., FI_DOCUMNT, RV_LIKP, SD_VBAK, MM_EKKO, MM_MATBEL, FI_SL_DATA).

○ Monitor the status and performance of archiving jobs, analyzing logs and statistics for successful completion.

○ Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to archiving processes, including error analysis and root cause identification.

○ Manage archive file deletion runs and verify successful deletion.

○ Maintain and optimize archive jobs and variants.

SAP ILM Implementation & Management:

○ Configure and maintain SAP ILM policies and rules for data retention and destruction based on legal and business requirements (e.g., GDPR, local regulations).

○ Implement and manage legal holds within SAP ILM to prevent premature data deletion for legal cases.

○ Support the decommissioning of legacy systems using SAP ILM's Retention Warehouse functionalities.

○ Work with business stakeholders to define and refine data retention periods and compliance policies.

○ Utilize SAP ILM functionalities for blocking and deleting personal data to ensure data privacy.

3rd Party archiving solution:

○ Have hands-on experience in 3rd party archiving solutions like Easy Archive Server, OpenText Archive Center, PBS, etc.

○ Good to have knowledge of SAP xECM solutions.

Data Volume Management:

○ Analyze data volumes and trends to identify archiving opportunities and proactively manage database growth.

○ Develop strategies for optimizing data storage and reducing TCO through effective archiving and ILM practices.

Reporting & Documentation:

○ Generate reports on archiving statistics, data volumes, and ILM compliance.

○ Maintain comprehensive documentation for archiving configurations, ILM policies, and operational procedures.

Collaboration & Support:

○ Collaborate with functional teams, Basis, and other IT stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of archiving and ILM processes.

○ Provide support for retrieving archived data as per business requests.

○ Participate in testing activities (FUT, SIT, UAT) related to archiving and ILM implementations.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

● Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP archiving, with a strong understanding of various SAP archiving objects.

SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM)

● Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and their implications for data management. This is good to have.

● Experience with SAP ECC/S4HANA and underlying database technologies.

● Ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.

● Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
