About the Organization

Designing Alley is a Delhi-based innovation startup focused on advanced product development in the health-tech sector. We specialize in turning engineering concepts into precision-built prototypes. We are seeking an experienced Sales & Marketing Lead to transition the organization from founder-led, opportunity-driven sales into a repeatable, scalable, SOP-aligned commercial operation.

 

Role Overview

The Sales & Marketing Lead APIs & Engineered Tissue Models (ETM) will be responsible for building and executing the company’s end-to-end commercialization strategy. This includes market positioning, lead generation, sales execution, institutional engagement, and post-sales relationship management. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands technically complex B2B products, long sales cycles, and institutional decision-making—and can translate deep technology into clear commercial value.

 

Core Objective

To establish a reliable, technically informed, and cost-efficient sales and marketing function that converts advanced R&D and manufacturing capabilities into sustainable revenue while remaining aligned with internal teams and operational realities.

 

Job Responsibilities

Market Strategy & Positioning

  • Define target markets, customer segments, and use-case-driven value propositions for APIs, intermediates, and ETM
  • Develop pricing models, packaging strategies, and go-to-market plans aligned with product maturity and market needs

Sales Execution & Business Development

  • Generate and qualify leads through structured outreach, partnerships, and existing professional networks
  • Conduct technical-commercial discussions, product demonstrations, and negotiations with industry and institutional stakeholders
  • Close commercial sales, pilots, and long-term institutional engagements

Marketing & Visibility

  • Oversee creation and deployment of sales collateral including brochures, pitch decks, and technical summaries
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, academic forums, and institutional meetings

Client & Partner Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with pharmaceutical companies, research institutes, and academic centres
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable internal deliverables by coordinating with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Manage post-sales engagement, feedback loops, and repeat business

Internal Coordination & SOP Compliance

  • Align sales commitments with internal technical, manufacturing, and quality capabilities
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, documentation, forecasts, and reporting in line with internal SOPs

 

Key Milestones & Outcomes

  • Established commercialization framework:

    clear go-to-market strategy, defined customer segments, and documented sales process
  • Active and qualified sales pipeline:

    issued proposals, ongoing negotiations, and confirmed sales, pilots, or institutional engagements
  • Operational sales function:

    active client base, repeatable revenue generation, and SOP- and CRM-aligned reporting
