The Role:

Sales Engineer

in-time and value-driven delivery

Key Responsibilities:

1. Enquiry Management & Lead Generation

  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries from multiple sources (website, phone, email).
  • Qualify leads by understanding pressure/flow requirements and application type.
  • Explore new markets through research, exhibitions, and references.

2. Technical & Commercial Proposal Preparation

  • Coordinate with Design & Costing teams for customized solutions.
  • Prepare and review quotations in ERP ensuring technical and commercial accuracy.
  • Follow up on offers and convert them into confirmed orders.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build long-term relationships with customers, dealers, and channel partners.
  • Conduct site visits, demos, and technical discussions.
  • Ensure post-order updates and seamless communication till delivery and installation.

4. Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with PPC, Production, Purchase, and Dispatch for smooth order execution.
  • Liaise with Accounts for payment follow-ups and order booking.
  • Support Service Team for after-sales coordination.

5. Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Gather market intelligence and competitor insights.
  • Identify industry trends and upcoming projects.
  • Recommend strategic actions for business development.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain CRM/Enquiry Register and Conversion Reports.
  • Submit weekly sales updates and monthly performance summaries.
  • Record customer visit reports and collection status.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Understanding of

    high-pressure pump systems

    , accessories, and industrial applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
  • ERP & Excel proficiency for quotation and reporting.
  • Pricing strategy, costing, and negotiation know-how.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Persuasive negotiation and follow-up discipline.
  • Customer empathy and result orientation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resilient under pressure.

What Makes You Our Perfect Match?

Experience:

  • 1–3 years in industrial or capital equipment sales (pumps, compressors, hydraulics preferred).
  • Freshers with strong technical aptitude and communication skills will also be considered.

Qualification:

  • Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical or Production Engineering preferred.
  • Other engineering domains may be considered based on relevance.

Tools & Systems:

  • ERP (Oracle / SAP preferred)
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint

Physical Requirement:

  • Willingness to travel extensively across India for customer visits and exhibitions.

  • Enquiry-to-order conversion ratio
  • Sales revenue vs. target achievement
  • Number of customer visits per month
  • Timely quotation submission and order processing
  • Customer satisfaction and repeat business rate
  • On-time payment collection
