Sales and Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new market opportunities, building strong client relationships, and leading sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. This role combines strategic planning with direct sales activities.
Key Responsibilities
The specific duties would typically include:
Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive business development and sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and expand market presence.
Market Research: Conduct high-level market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, and potential clients or partnerships.
Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through networking, cold outreach, and marketing collaboration.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients and key stakeholders.
Sales & Negotiation: Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations, negotiate contracts and agreements, and lead the process of closing deals.
Team Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to align strategies. In future, would also involve leading, mentoring, and training a team of sales or business development representatives.
Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance metrics (KPIs), track pipeline activity and prepare regular reports and sales forecasts for management review.
Industry Representation: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and expand professional networks.
Skills and Qualifications:
A successful candidate typically possesses a blend of soft and hard skills:
Education: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (a Master's degree is a plus).
Experience: Proven experience in sales or business development roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
