Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development & Enhancement:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, and SQL on the IBM i platform.
• Enhance existing applications to support evolving business needs.
• Migrate legacy RPG code to RPG Free and modern development standards.
• Integration & Modernization:
• Develop APIs and integration components to connect AS400 applications with web, mobile, and cloud platforms.
• Work on REST/SOAP-based integrations and external system connectivity.
• Database Management:
• Work extensively with DB2/400 for data modeling, writing complex SQL queries, and stored procedures.
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
• Application Support:
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues on time.
• Collaborate with QA and support teams to ensure smooth deployments.
• Provide L2/L3 support for business-critical applications.
• Performance Optimization:
• Analyze existing code and implement performance tuning strategies for faster processing and efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of applications.
• Documentation & Collaboration:
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including functional specs, user guides, and process flows.
• Work closely with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in IBM i (AS400/iSeries) application development.
• Proficiency in RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, SQL, and DB2/400.
• Experience developing batch and interactive programs.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with ILE concepts, service programs, and modular RPG coding.
• Knowledge of API development and integration with external systems.
• Hands-on experience with job scheduling, job monitoring, and system automation.
• Understanding of change management tools like TurnOver, Aldon, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with modernization projects (RPG to Java/.NET or web-based UI).
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud integration for AS400 applications.
• Exposure to data replication tools and high-availability setups.
• Knowledge of security, auditing, and compliance for AS400 environments.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
