end-to-end multi-tasking robotics platform

The form factors of the robots include:

  • Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) with arms
  • Bipedal humanoids

Target environments include large apartments, villas, factories, greenhouses, large retail stores, workshops, and more. Tasks may include navigating, operating tools & appliances, organizing, inspection, fetching, and moving objects. The long-term vision is to enable complex orchestrated activities such as cooking, cleaning, and other everyday workflows.

About the Role

Robotics Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems and mechanisms for robotic platforms, including actuators, linkages, and sensor housings using Autodesk Fusion 360
  • Perform advanced structural simulations using ANSYS and Abaqus, including:
  • Weight optimization of structural components for performance and energy efficiency
  • Static and dynamic load analysis for structural integrity
  • Vibration analysis to ensure stability under operating conditions
  • Fatigue life cycle analysis for mission-critical moving parts
  • Prototype, test, and iterate on mechanical components to validate simulation assumptions
  • Generate comprehensive engineering documentation, including technical reports, drawings, and BOMs
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and material selection strategies
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in robotics, materials, and manufacturing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Engineering Design, Engineering Physics, Instrumentation, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical or robotics design (entry-level candidates may be considered for junior roles)
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret:
  • FEA simulations with structural, dynamic, and thermal considerations
  • Modal and harmonic analysis
  • Fatigue and failure analysis
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and fabrication techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in robotic arm, mobile platform, or actuator system design
  • Background in prototyping with CNC, 3D printing, or rapid fabrication methods
  • Hands-on experience with machine shop tools or electronics prototyping
  • Deep understanding of mechanical principles, linkage mechanisms, materials, and stress/strain behaviour
  • Knowledge of IP ratings, safety standards, or compliance in robotics
