Min Experience: 2 yearsLocation: Chennai, IndiaJobType: full-timeWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Analyst to support business, investment, and strategic decision-making through high-quality research and insights. The role involves conducting in-depth secondary research, analyzing financial and market data, and supporting M&A, investment, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using platforms such as PitchBook and Capital IQ, along with a strong understanding of corporate finance, industry analysis, and transaction landscapes.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive secondary research across industries, companies, markets, and competitors using credible public and proprietary sources.
  • Develop detailed company profiles, industry reports, market sizing analyses, and competitive landscapes to support internal stakeholders.
  • Leverage databases such as PitchBook, Capital IQ, and other financial research tools to extract, analyze, and interpret company, deal, and financial data.
  • Support M&A activities by assisting in target screening, valuation benchmarking, deal tracking, and transaction analysis.
  • Analyze mergers, acquisitions, investments, and funding trends to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
  • Create high-quality research decks, presentations, and reports for senior leadership, investment teams, and client-facing discussions.
  • Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments to provide timely insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including strategy, finance, investment, and leadership teams to address ad-hoc research needs.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity across all research outputs.
  • Manage multiple research projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-7 years of experience as a Research Analyst or in a similar role within consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate strategy, or market research.
  • Strong expertise in secondary research methodologies and data triangulation.
  • Hands-on experience with PitchBook and Capital IQ (mandatory).
  • Solid understanding of M&A concepts, transaction structures, valuation metrics, and deal lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, including interpreting financial statements, KPIs, and valuation multiples.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly and concisely.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field (MBA/CFA is a plus).
  • Prior experience supporting investment, strategy, or M&A teams.
  • Exposure to global markets and cross-border transactions
