A skilled RF Engineer who can contribute to the development and testing of various RF systems like Active/ Passive Radars, RF detectors with DF and Jammers. The engineer will also be required to contribute for development and testing of Data links for communication in various frequency bands. An RF engineer will play crucial roles in ensuring that the system is robust, reliable and efficient. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in RF design, testing, and troubleshooting, with hands-on experience in integrating RF systems into various platforms.
• Design, developing and testing of RF systems like Radar, RF detectors and Jammer as well as communication systems for counter drone systems and missiles, including transceivers, antennas, and amplifiers. Work on both analog and digital RF circuit design, including PCB layout and integration. Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards.
• Integrate communication protocols suitable for the Missiles operational requirements, such as telemetry, command and control, and video transmission. Design/ select the Data links and RF front-end of the communication system, including transmitters, receivers, and amplifiers.
• Conduct RF performance testing and analysis for C-UAS systems to ensure they meet required specifications. Optimize RF systems for range, reliability, and interference mitigation by utilizing different types of tools such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators to evaluate system performance.
• Select antennas that match the communication needs, such as omnidirectional antennas for general communication or directional antennas for long-range communication. Ensure antennas are integrated into the missiles in a way that does not negatively impact aerodynamics or stability.
• Perform link budget calculations to assess the feasibility of maintaining communication over the required distances and under various conditions. Evaluate system performance metrics like signal strength, quality, and data rates to ensure they meet operational requirements.
• Use RF simulation tools to model and predict system performance before physical implementation. Conduct real-world testing to validate the communication system under various operational scenarios, including different altitudes, speeds, and environmental conditions.
• Analyze and mitigate potential interference issues from other RF sources, including other UAVs, commercial communication systems, and natural sources. Implement techniques such as adaptive power control, and error correction to manage and reduce interference. Address any bugs or issues that arise post-deployment and application of updates to add new features or improve functionality based on user feedback.
• Stay updated on advancements in RF technologies and future wireless standards, to enhance missiles communication capabilities and explore innovative solutions such as beamforming, massive MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output), and adaptive communication techniques.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, RF Engineering or a related field.
• Preference will be given if the candidate have experience in RF system design, testing, and integration, preferably within the defence & aerospace industry.
• Proficiency in using RF measurement equipment and simulation tools and strong understanding of RF principles, including signal propagation, modulation techniques, and interference management.
• Preference will be given if the candidate has experience with RF communication systems, including telemetry, command and control links, and data downlinks.
• It will be preferred if the candidate has knowledge in advanced RF techniques such as beamforming, MIMO, or frequency hopping
