Quality Engineer – Fire Fighting Industry

Location: Nagpur, Maharashtra Department: Quality Assurance / Control Reporting To: Plant Head Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to ensure the highest quality standards in our fire protection systems, products, and services. The ideal candidate will have a background in the fire fighting or fire safety equipment industry and a strong understanding of quality management systems, audits, and industry-specific compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for fire fighting systems (e.g., sprinklers, hydrants, extinguishers, pumps, valves). Conduct in-process and final inspections of fire fighting equipment and installations. Review and approve product drawings, specifications, and test plans. Identify quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain and improve ISO 9001:2015 quality management system documentation. Coordinate with production, design, procurement, and installation teams to ensure quality objectives are met. Support third-party audits and customer inspections. Train staff on quality standards and procedures. Maintain quality records and reports as per QMS requirements. Key Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of quality standards in fire protection systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with measuring instruments, gauges, and testing methods. Understanding of welding, fabrication, and installation quality (preferred). Excellent communication and documentation skills. Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Fire & Safety, or related engineering discipline. 3+ years of experience in quality assurance in the fire fighting or related industry.
