Quality Assurance Engineer - Manual Testing

Key Responsibilities Lead and support Sybase to SQL migration testing efforts, proactively identifying potential risks, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks during the transition phase. Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for complex data migration scenarios. Perform thorough database validation to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency before, during, and after migration. Write and execute SQL queries proficiently to analyze data, verify migration results, and identify issues. Collaborate closely with development, database administration, and business teams to understand migration requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Identify, document, and track defects using established QA tools such as JIRA or TestRail, managing them through their lifecycle. Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies, especially in the context of data migrations. Provide clear and concise status updates, test reports, and risk assessments to project stakeholders. Required Skills And Experience 5 to 8 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance and software testing. Proven experience in manual testing methodologies. Strong expertise in database validation and data integrity testing. Advanced proficiency in SQL queries for data analysis, manipulation, and verification. Direct, hands-on experience with Sybase to SQL migration projects is highly desirable and preferred. Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA or TestRail. Ability to identify and articulate risks associated with data migration processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
