An Infrastructure Quantity Surveyor's job description focuses on managing the cost and commercial aspects of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time. This role involves estimating costs, managing budgets, preparing tender documents, and providing advice on cost control and contract management. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation and Management: Estimating project costs, preparing bills of quantities, and managing budgets throughout the project lifecycle. Tender Preparation and Evaluation: Preparing tender documents, evaluating bids from contractors, and negotiating contracts. Contract Administration: Managing contract variations, claims, and payments, ensuring adherence to contractual terms. Project Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking project progress, monitoring costs, and preparing regular reports for stakeholders. Value Engineering and Cost Optimization: Identifying opportunities to improve project value and reduce costs through cost-effective solutions. Risk Management: Assessing and managing commercial risks associated with projects. Client Liaison: Communicating with clients to understand their needs and providing cost-related advice. Compliance: Ensuring projects comply with relevant regulations and standards. Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a related field. Experience: Relevant experience in the construction industry, particularly in infrastructure projects. Technical Skills: Expertise in cost estimation, contract management, and project accounting. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve cost-related issues. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. Professional Certification: RICS chartership is highly desirable.
