Purchase Engineer

A Purchase Engineer with a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the procurement of mechanical parts, materials, and equipment. They are involved in vendor management, negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods while optimizing costs. Key Responsibilities: Sourcing and Vendor Selection: Identifying and evaluating potential vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers of mechanical parts, equipment, and materials. Negotiation: Negotiating pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure the best possible deals. Order Management: Preparing and issuing purchase orders, tracking order status, and ensuring timely delivery. Quality Control: Reviewing and ensuring the quality of purchased goods and materials, addressing any issues or defects. Cost Analysis: Conducting cost analyses and comparisons to determine the most cost-effective suppliers and products while upholding quality standards. Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels, placing orders as needed, and coordinating with warehouse staff for storage and logistics. Technical Expertise: Utilizing technical knowledge to understand and address technical requirements for procurement, including reviewing technical specifications and designs. Communication and Collaboration: Coordinating with various departments (e.g., engineering, design, project teams) to understand their needs and ensure timely procurement. ERP/System Management: Maintaining procurement data and tracking orders using ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
