Purchasing Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Purchase Manager to oversee and manage our procurement activities in the steel fabrication sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality raw materials (MS, SS, angles, channels, plates, etc.), maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring timely delivery, controlling costs, and aligning procurement with production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and review procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Source and evaluate reliable vendors and suppliers for steel and fabrication-related materials.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value.
• Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and stock levels efficiently.
• Coordinate with the production, store, accounts, and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
• Monitor market trends and identify potential material shortages or cost fluctuations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure long-term collaboration and favorable terms.
• Track material usage, wastage, and suggest cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead and guide the purchase team to meet procurement targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication company.
• Strong knowledge of raw material specifications used in fabrication (steel, fasteners, tools, consumables).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Excel.
• Sound understanding of GST, taxation, and transport regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.

Salary: As per industry standards (Negotiable based on experience)
