Urgently Required – Purchase Manager (Food Industry)

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to lead procurement activities in the food industry.

• Expertise in cost analysis, procurement, and vendor negotiations for staples such as rice, flour, pulses, spices, and grains.
• Hands-on experience in Ready-to-Eat (RTE), Frozen, and Processed Food categories, with strong understanding of shelf life, storage, and compliance.
• Proficient in market research, competitor analysis, and pricing strategy development.
• Strong foundation in maintaining quality standards, food safety norms, and packaging compliance.
• Capable of demand forecasting, procurement planning, and cost optimization for high-demand categories.
• Experienced in supplier & distributor relationship management, ensuring sustainable partnerships.
• In-depth knowledge of local & international food and grocery markets, including pricing trends, sourcing, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with domestic & international suppliers for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure timely supply and compliance with quality standards.
• Prepare purchase orders, reports, and vendor records, ensuring data accuracy.
• Maintain vendor data and adhere to L1, L2, L3 purchase approval protocols.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams for procurement planning.
• Negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings while upholding quality benchmarks.
• Track market trends (domestic & global) and recommend cost-effective sourcing strategies.
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, BRC, US FDA, EU standards, and company procurement policies.
• Conduct regular vendor field visits for monitoring and relationship strengthening.
• Stay updated on import/export documentation, labeling, packaging norms, and shelf-life requirements.
• Collaborate with the export team to meet procurement needs for USA, Canada, Europe, Middle East, and other international markets.

Skill Requirements

• Graduate in Food Technology / Science or related field.
• 2–5 years of purchase/procurement experience in the food industry.
• Strong skills in negotiation, vendor management, costing, and procurement data analysis.
• Knowledge of raw materials, food ingredients, packaging materials, and supply chain practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel required); ERP systems experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidate from Gujarat with perfected expertise in the food industry.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
