Post Description
Play an active role in the continuous improvement. Identify issues or improvements with product or systems. Raise required changes through the company continuous improvement process (ECR / NCR / OFI).Follow, promote, review and improve company processes such as the PMP (Project Management Process). Ensure all team members are fully trained in company process.5S – A place for everything and everything in its place. Promote and participate in 5S and ensure that our workplace is kept tidy and organised.Promote and follow our company values.Review and understand the estimate and scope of work.Review and agree budgets with the procurement team on award of project.Manage allocated projects so that established budget for each project is met and the margin is protected and maintained/enhanced.Ensure accurate and timely financial reports, specifically cost to complete estimate and cost at completion, are submitted monthly, and where necessary make adjustments to resources and schedule to keep costs within budget.Ensure both monthly claims to the client and payments from the client are made in accordance with the time frames detailed in the contract.Proactively manage purchase orders on site, controlling usage and expenditureVerify receipt of invoices and approve for payment before cut-off.On completion of the project, ensure all financial accounts and related documentation, particularly the final completion certificate and all claims to the client and from the subcontractor, are concluded and paid in accordance with commercial and contractual agreementsImplement project systems and processes in accordance with the Project Management Manual and GPS-NOW milestones.Develop an accurate and detailed project schedule that is realistic and can be completed within the time allocated at time of tender.Regularly monitor project performance against a detailed project plan and make the necessary decisions/changes to ensure the project does not fall behind schedule.Oversee management of the operational and resource requirements for the project including the timely ordering of all products, material and other resources required.Identify changes to the project that constitute variations. Such changes may result from scope of work additions instructed by the client or changes to the project as a result of action by others. Ensure robust and credible claims that are contractually compliant are presented to the client to cover the cost incurred by such changes plus margin.Ensure written contract instructions are obtained for all verbal variations instructed.
Ensure Project Documentation Meets Statutory, Company And Operational Requirements.
Prepare a monthly report and other contract reports as required by the COOCoordinate the design teams (Electrical, Mechanical and Software) and manufacturing facility.Review the design costs within the tender and make every effort to ensure that the ultimate cost of the final design does not exceed the budgetCommunicate effectively with consultants, subcontractors and Suppliers.Facilitate an environment of trust, openness, integrity and honesty, and prevent conflict or contractual issues arising; or resolve by mediation or negotiation.Make commercially prudent subcontractor or supplier selections without compromising project quality and safety requirements.Ensure subcontractor and supplier letting is made in accordance with Company guidelines.Be knowledgeable of the terms and conditions of the Head Contract and subcontractor and supplier contracts including clarifications and exclusions and authorise approved payments.Attend regular meetings with all relevant contractors and consultants and provide project progress reports.Actively participate in health and safety matters.Prepare Project Safety PlanLead by example and promote a proactive health and safety conscious culture.Ensure project team follows Alstef’ s Health and Safety systems and policies including all subcontractors.Ensure all site activities are in accordance with all relevant codes and standards.Ensure all site operators including clients, consultants, subcontractors and Alstef staff are fully inducted onto the site.Hold weekly subcontractor toolbox meetingsMaintain effective communication channels with all stakeholders to facilitate an environment of integrity, trust and openness.Ensure all client issues are attended to quickly and politely to the extent of the job holder’s limits of authority
Profile Required
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 6+ years’ relevant experience in project management including on-site management capability
- Proven experience in negotiation and conflict management
- Proven delivery of project outcomes with contractual documentation
- Sound working knowledge of contractual and commercial issues.
- Sound working knowledge of financial management and budgeting processes including the ability to estimate cost to complete and forecast cost at completion.
- Sound working knowledge of project scheduling and planning.
Education/Training/Licences etc
- A tertiary engineering qualification preferred; a mechanical background would be an advantage.
Miscellaneous
- Must be able to travel frequently for extended periods; this is essential to successful performance in the role.
