We are hiring: Project Intern (WATCO – Odisha) | Paid Internship
Cognecto Private Limited is seeking a Project Intern for our WATCO Odisha engagement. This role is designed for candidates who can balance technology coordination, client communication, and field execution. The selected intern will act as the single point of contact for WATCO Odisha for day-to-day coordination and will support successful on-ground implementation, stakeholder alignment, and operational readiness.

Location: Odisha (field visits + client coordination; some remote coordination as required)
Role Type: Paid Internship (with confirmation-based continuation)
Reporting To: Project Manager / Program Lead
Role Summary
The Project Intern will support end-to-end project execution, including site readiness tracking, field coordination, client reporting, and coordination with internal technology and operations teams. The role requires strong ownership, structured communication, and the ability to work in dynamic field environments.
Key Responsibilities
1) Client Management and Governance (WATCO PoC)
• Act as the primary point of contact for WATCO Odisha for project coordination and updates.
• Plan and manage meetings, prepare minutes of meeting (MoM), track action items, and ensure closure.
• Capture operational requirements and convert them into clear action plans for internal teams.
• Maintain stakeholder alignment by providing structured weekly and milestone-based updates.
• Proactively identify risks, delays, and dependencies and escalate with corrective action proposals.
2) Field Execution and Site Coordination
• Coordinate with site officials, field teams, and installation partners for execution activities.
• Track site readiness, approvals, material availability, attendance, and daily progress.
• Ensure installation/commissioning activities follow agreed checklists, process standards, and safety practices.
• Validate completion using documented evidence (checklists, photos, sign-offs, and site reports).
• Support troubleshooting coordination by ensuring accurate issue capture, prioritization, and closure.
3) Technology and Operations Support
• Support onboarding activities for users, devices, and applications at site level.
• Assist in basic troubleshooting of device/app issues and coordinate resolution with the tech team.
• Maintain clean records for device mapping, connectivity status, configurations, and operational health.
• Support data validation and ensure reporting/dashboards reflect accurate field conditions.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams for configuration changes, bug fixes, and enhancements.
4) Project Tracking, Documentation, and Closure Support
• Maintain structured project trackers for milestones, deliveries, blockers, and dependencies.
• Support preparation of documentation required for milestone acceptance, invoicing, and collections.
• Ensure work completion documentation is accurate and submitted on time for billing readiness.
• Contribute to client-facing progress reports, monthly summaries, and operational performance reports.
Qualifications
• Final-year student / recent graduate in Engineering, Technology, Operations, or Management disciplines (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Science preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to work with government/enterprise stakeholders.
• Comfortable with field travel and working at project sites within Odisha.
• Good working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and structured reporting.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple workstreams with accountability.
• Odia language capability is preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
• Exposure to infrastructure, utilities, water, or public sector projects.
• Familiarity with IoT devices, connectivity basics, mobile applications, or field data workflows.
• Experience creating MoMs, trackers, checklists, and client-ready documentation.

• On-time milestone delivery with clear reporting and issue closure discipline.
• Strong coordination with WATCO stakeholders and internal teams with minimal escalations.
• Clean and accurate project documentation enabling smooth acceptance and billing readiness.
• High site execution quality through disciplined checklists and evidence-based reporting.
