Position Overview

The Program Head (Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor) for the B. Com (Professional) program will be responsible for academic leadership, curriculum design, program administration, faculty mentoring, student success, and industry alignment of the B. Com (Professional) program. The role demands strong academic qualifications, professional expertise, and strategic vision to ensure that the program maintains high academic standards and industry relevance.


Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction for the B. Com (Professional) program and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Oversee curriculum development, periodic revision, and outcome-based academic practices.
  • Ensure compliance with University, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Drive academic excellence through innovative teaching-learning practices and assessment methods.

Program Administration

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the program including timetable, workload allocation, and academic planning.
  • Monitor student performance, progression, and overall program outcomes.
  • Coordinate with administrative departments for smooth program functioning.

Faculty Management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise faculty members teaching in the program.
  • Conduct faculty orientation, development programs, and performance evaluations.
  • Promote a culture of research, continuous improvement, and academic integrity.

Industry & Professional Engagement

  • Develop partnerships with industry bodies, corporates, and professional organizations (ICMA, CA, CS, ACCA, CIMA, CPA etc.).
  • Facilitate guest lectures, internships, workshops, and student engagement activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to ensure program relevance.

Student Engagement & Support

  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
  • Resolve student concerns related to the program and ensure a supportive learning environment.
  • Oversee student career readiness initiatives and placement support.

Quality Assurance & Reporting

  • Maintain and document academic quality indicators, program reviews, and reports.
  • Lead accreditation-related activities when required.
  • Ensure continuous program improvement based on feedback and data.


Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Management, or related discipline (Mandatory).

  • Professional qualification:

    ICMA/CA/CS (Mandatory).
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies such as

    AICWA / FICWA / ACA/ FCA /ACCA / CIMA-

    preferred.

Experience

10–15 years of academic and/or industry experience

  • Experience in curriculum development, academic administration, or program management preferred.
