Job Description: Production Line Supervisor / Executive Department: Production / Manufacturing Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Head Role Purpose To ensure smooth production operations by optimizing efficiency, maintaining quality standards, managing defects, and enhancing workforce skills through effective training and development. Major Roles & Responsibilities1. Efficiency Optimization Confirm line attendance at the start of each shift and ensure full team availability. Proactively maintain and improve line efficiency to achieve zero stoppages. Identify bottlenecks, develop solutions, and eliminate productivity barriers. 2. Quality Control Enhance and sustain Inline Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and Total Units Pass (TUP) ratios. Drive continuous improvement by involving shop floor employees in quality initiatives. Analyze defects and implement corrective actions to improve product quality. 3. Defect Management (OS&D)Ensure all rejected items are accurately tracked and accounted for. Conduct detailed analyses of rejected parts on the line and take preventive/corrective actions to minimize rejection rates. 4. Training and Skill Development Conduct regular training sessions to support multiskilling and contingency management. Train new hires and ensure adherence to defect-free processes. Foster a culture of continuous learning and maintain a high level of competency across the workforce. Desired Skills & Qualifications Diploma / BE in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent). 4–8 years of experience in production/assembly line operations within a manufacturing/automotive/FMCG setup. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and quality tools (5S, Root Cause Analysis, PDCA, etc.). Ability to analyze data, identify process gaps, and implement improvements. Excellent leadership, people management, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office; ERP/SAP knowledge is an advantage. Key Success Metrics Achievement of zero stoppages on the production line. Improvement in PDI/TUP ratios. Reduction in defect rates and OS&D occurrences. Effective training and multiskilling of team members. Consistent adherence to quality and safety standards.
