Production Manager

Educational Background : A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Experience: Significant experience in the Explosives /Hazardous manufacturing industry, typically at least 5-10 years, with a focus on production, safety, and quality control. Experience in a leadership role, such as a plant manager or senior production supervisor, is highly valued. Technical Skills: Proficiency in understanding and managing the production processes of explosives, including the handling and storage of hazardous materials. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety protocols, such as those set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Safety Management : Strong background in safety management, including the implementation of safety programs and the ability to conduct risk assessments. Experience in managing and training staff on safety procedures is crucial. Quality Control : Expertise in quality control processes to ensure that products meet industry standards and customer specifications. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other quality management systems is beneficial. Regulatory Compliance : Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to the manufacture and handling of explosives. Ability to ensure that the plant operates in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Leadership and Management : Strong leadership skills to manage a team of production workers, engineers, and support staff. Ability to set and achieve production goals, manage budgets, and optimize operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to address production issues, equipment failures, and other challenges that may arise in the manufacturing process. Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with employees, regulatory agencies, and customers. Ability to clearly convey complex technical information and safety protocols. Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes. Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
