Production Engineer

Job Title: Production Supervisor – CRGO Steel Industry
Location: Vadodara
Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities related to CRGO steel processing, ensuring quality standards, optimizing manpower, and maintaining machine efficiency. This role plays a key part in the manufacturing of transformer core components, focusing on precision and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Operations:

• Supervise daily operations including slitting, shearing, core cutting, notching, and stacking of CRGO material.
• Ensure timely execution of production plans as per customer and internal requirements.
• Maintain optimum utilization of manpower, materials, and machines.

2. Quality & Compliance:

• Monitor in-process quality checks for CRGO steel (e.g., burrs, flatness, loss parameters).
• Ensure adherence to ISO, BIS, and internal quality standards.
• Coordinate with the quality team to resolve non-conformities and reduce rework/scrap.

3. Manpower Management:

• Allocate work to machine operators and helpers according to the production schedule.
• Supervise and train shop floor workers on safety, machine operation, and material handling.
• Ensure discipline, productivity, and a safe working environment on the shop floor.

4. Process Improvement & Efficiency:

• Identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, material savings, and process automation.
• Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime.
• Report daily production data, downtimes, and machine performance metrics.

5. Coordination & Communication:

• Liaise with planning, maintenance, and quality teams for smooth workflow.
• Coordinate with stores for material availability and consumption reporting.
• Participate in daily production review meetings and escalate bottlenecks.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of CRGO material handling, transformer core manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with slitting, cutting, annealing, and stacking operations.
• Hands-on experience in reading engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, and preferably ERP/SAP systems.

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.

Experience:

• 0 TO 1 years of experience in CRGO steel processing, transformer core production, or electrical steel industry.

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or safety training certifications.
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma (basic level preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
