Production Engineer

Designation: Engineer

Department: Production – Basic Manufacturing (Press/Bush Curling/Pin Cutting)

Location: Karur, Tamil Nadu, India

Reporting to: Assistant Manager

Purpose: To Manage the shift employees (confirmed, contract and apprentice) and to ensure the smooth production process in the shift to meet the shift targets & specifications.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
• Responsible to manage the shift in terms of job allocation supervising the operators and to ensure smooth production process.
• To take full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes, and procedures.
• Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, general issues
• To identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems.
• To work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers.
• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
• Encourage employee’s involvement in the continual improvement and optimization of process through Kaizen, Quality circle and 5s in shop floor.
• Accountability for stock movements
• To Maintain shop floor discipline
• To Ensure timely availability of required resources to carry out production activity.
• To Meet production plan on time in full through effective utilization of resources
• To Ensure high productivity and minimum repair cost

Positional Requirements – Functional:

• B.E Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in Press Operations from Manufacturing companies with a strong track record at the supervisory level.
• Knowledge on Special Machines such as Press (power, stamping, hydraulic, hydropneumatics), Pin cutting, Bush curling & their functioning methods.
• Basic knowledge on quality concepts and Tools.
• Knowledge on Total Productive Maintenance.
• Knowledge on Planning and Execution skills.
• Knowledge on basic inventory management (WIP).
• Knowledge on ISO Standards.
• Computer literacy – MS office, Infor M3 would be an added advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
