Product Research Analyst (Hardware | Smart Wearables)

Role Overview :-

As a Product Research Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting hardware product development by conducting technical research, competitor benchmarking, material/electronic component analysis, and market feasibility studies. This role directly contributes to shaping new product ideas, improving existing hardware, and ensuring Headfox stays ahead in innovation.

Key Responsibilities :-

1. Hardware Market & Competitor Research

• Study global and Indian trends in smart helmets, wearables, IoT devices, and automotive tech.

• Analyze competitor hardware products—electronics, materials, feature sets, build quality, certifications, and pricing.

• Track new technologies (Bluetooth modules, sensors, battery tech, PCB components, plastics, molding methods).

2. Component & Technology Research

• Research and compare electronic components (MCUs, sensors, batteries, connectors, LED modules, speakers, mics).

• Evaluate feasibility of new technologies for integration into Helmets and mobility hardware.

• Create BoM comparison sheets for cost, reliability, and performance benchmarking.

3. User & Field Insights for Hardware Products

• Collect and analyze real-world user feedback on product performance, durability, usability, and failures.

• Study product returns, QC issues, and field test results to identify improvement opportunities.

• Recommend actionable hardware improvements.

4. Research Support for R&D & Product Team

• Prepare concept validation documents for new product ideas.

• Assist in early-stage prototyping research by comparing materials, design approaches, and technologies.

• Support testing protocols by reviewing test data and drafting improvement reports.

5. Documentation & Technical Reporting

• Maintain detailed documentation of research findings, competitor matrices, trend reports, component databases.

• Prepare weekly research dashboards for leadership and R&D teams.

• Create structured research documents that guide product decisions.

Key Skills Required :-

• Technical understanding of electronics, hardware components, sensors, materials.

• Ability to analyse technical specs, PCB layouts, and product functionality.

• Excellent research, documentation, and analytical abilities.

• Skilled in Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Notion, or research tools.

• Ability to simplify complex hardware concepts into clear insights.

• Strong interest in consumer hardware, IoT, wearables, and automotive devices.

Education & Experience :-

• B.Tech/B.E. (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation) preferred.

• 0–2 years experience in hardware/tech research, product analysis, or electronics domain.

• Freshers with strong technical aptitude may also apply.
