Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly accomplished and results-oriented Project Lead or Product Lead with extensive experience (15-18 years) in the design, development, and deployment of Telematics, Connectivity NAD modules (preferably 5G). The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wireless communication technologies, automotive electronics, and the end-to-end product lifecycle. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and manufacturing partners. The successful candidate will be instrumental in solutioning, leading customer presentations, overseeing manufacturing plant setup, and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration to deliver market-leading connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Product/Project Leadership:
- Lead the entire product/project lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop and manage project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
- Act as the primary technical contact for Connectivity NAD modules within the organization.
Design & Development Oversight:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams (hardware, software, firmware, test) throughout the design and development phases.
- Ensure the architectural integrity, performance, reliability, and manufacturability of NAD modules.
- Oversee the selection and integration of key components, chipsets, and technologies (e.g., 5G, LTE, C-V2X, GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
- Drive adherence to industry standards, regulatory compliance (e.g., RED, FCC, CE), and automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ASPICE).
Solutioning & Customer Engagement:
- Lead technical discussions and solutioning efforts with existing and prospective customers, understanding their requirements and translating them into technical specifications and product features.
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and proposals to customers, demonstrating the value proposition of our NAD module solutions.
- Gather customer feedback and incorporate it into product improvements and future development cycles.
Manufacturing & Production Setup:
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure seamless transition from design to mass production.
- Lead or support the setup and optimization of manufacturing processes for NAD modules, including defining production lines, test procedures, and quality control measures.
- Oversee supplier selection and management for critical components, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
- Address and resolve any manufacturing or quality issues that arise during production.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership:
- Foster a highly collaborative and productive environment among diverse functional teams, including R&D, engineering, program management, sales, marketing, quality, and manufacturing.
- Mentor and guide less experienced team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Effectively communicate project status, risks, and challenges to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and standardization bodies as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in product management, and/or engineering roles within the connectivity, telecommunications, or automotive electronics industry.
- Deep expertise in Connectivity NAD modules (Network Access Devices) is essential, including hands-on experience in their design, development, and deployment.
- Strong technical understanding of various wireless communication technologies (e.g., 5G NR, LTE, C-V2X, GSM/UMTS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS).
- Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, LIN) and architectures.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as applied to connected devices.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing complex hardware and software products to market.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
