Product Analyst - Functional (Travel Technology)

Key Responsibilities:

• Functional Requirement Elicitation & Definition:

  Work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and clients from the travel industry to gather, analyze, and document detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements across QuadLabs product suite (e.g., booking engines, ERP modules, CRM, mobile app).

• Workflow & Process Mapping:

  Map out current and future state travel business processes and workflows, identifying pain points and opportunities for optimization through our technology solutions.

• Travel Domain Expertise Application:

  Leverage in-depth knowledge of travel industry practices, including GDS functionalities, airline/hotel/car rental booking flows, package tour operations, B2B/B2C sales processes, payment gateways, and backend accounting/reporting needs to inform product design and functionality.

• User Story & Use Case Development:

  Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and use cases, ensuring all edge cases and scenarios are considered.

• Solution Design Collaboration:

  Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX/UI designers, and technical architects to propose functional solutions that are scalable, user-friendly, and meet market demands.

• System Integration Understanding:

  Understand the integration points between various travel systems (e.g., GDS, third-party APIs, payment gateways) and how they impact functional design.

• Testing & Validation Support:

  Support QA teams in defining test cases and validating that developed features meet the specified functional requirements and business objectives.

• Market & Competitor Analysis (Functional Lens):

  Conduct functional analysis of competitor products and market trends within the travel tech space to identify best practices and areas for product differentiation.

• Documentation & Communication:

  Create clear, concise functional documentation, diagrams, and presentations to effectively communicate product functionalities to development teams, sales, marketing, and client-facing teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, Hospitality & Tourism Management, or a related field

  (Travel & Tourism will be preferred).

• 4-6 years of experience

  as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Product Analyst specifically within the travel technology industry, OTA, travel agency, or tour operating company.

• Proven hands-on experience and deep understanding of core travel business processes (e.g., flight/hotel/car booking, package creation, reservations, ticketing, PNR management, cancellations, refunds, invoicing, accounting).

• Familiarity with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo, or similar travel APIs and booking platforms.

• Experience in gathering, analysing, and documenting complex functional requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and vice versa.

• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in creating flowcharts, process maps, and use case diagrams.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
