About the Role

Procurement Manager


Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Strategy:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives. Continuously assess sourcing options to ensure cost-efficiency, quality, and timely availability of solar components.
  • Vendor Development & Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for solar modules, inverters, structures, cables, and other BoS components. Foster long-term supplier partnerships and negotiate contracts for optimal pricing and terms.
  • Contract & Commercial Management:

  • Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and agreements. Ensure compliance with terms and protect the company's commercial interests.
  • Cost Optimization & Benchmarking:

  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives through negotiations, bulk sourcing, and supplier consolidation. Benchmark procurement costs with market trends.
  • Quality & Compliance Assurance:

  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure vendor compliance with technical standards (MNRE, IEC, etc.). Conduct audits and address non-compliance issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with engineering, project execution, logistics, and finance teams to streamline procurement planning and inventory management.
  • Performance Monitoring:

  • Track and report key procurement KPIs such as cost savings, lead time, supplier performance, and on-time delivery.
  • Risk Mitigation:

  • Identify supply chain risks (price fluctuations, import dependency, geopolitical risks) and develop mitigation strategies including alternative sourcing and long-term vendor contracts.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of

    solar procurement

    processes, including modules, inverters, BoS, and EPC materials
  • Strong

    negotiation and contract management

    skills
  • Familiarity with

    domestic and international solar supply markets

  • Proficiency in

    ERP systems

    (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and procurement software
  • Analytical approach to

    cost tracking and supplier performance

  • Effective

    vendor development

    and

    relationship management

    abilities


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in

    Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business

    , or a related field
  • Mandatory: 6-12 years of experience in procurement, with at least 4-5 years in the solar/renewable energy industry

  • Experience in

    large-scale solar EPC projects

    is highly desirable
