Procurement Manager

Job Description

Procurement & Vendor Management: Identify and evaluate reliable vendors and suppliers for medical and non-medical items. Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and finalize procurement contracts. Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the store, pharmacy, biomedical, and clinical departments to assess and forecast demand. Ensure timely procurement to avoid stockouts and overstocking. Coordinate with warehouse/store managers for proper receipt and stocking of items. Purchase Order Management: Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) based on requisitions. Ensure all purchases comply with hospital budget, policies, and approval protocols. Track and follow up on order deliveries and address delays or discrepancies. Quality & Compliance: Ensure procurement of high-quality products that meet hospital standards and safety norms. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., NABH, ISO). Verify documentation including invoices, delivery challans, and quality certificates. Cost Control & Budgeting: Analyze pricing trends and implement cost-saving strategies. Assist in preparing the procurement budget and monitor expenditure. Optimize procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce wastage. Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and contract files. Generate periodic reports on purchase activities, vendor performance, and budget utilization. Support internal and external audits with relevant procurement data.
