Job Description: Graduate Engineer Trainee (Supply Chain / Procurement)

Role Overview:

As a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET), you will support the Supply Chain and Procurement functions through hands-on involvement in sourcing, vendor management, and interdepartmental coordination. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will gain exposure to global procurement processes, supplier audits, material handling, and logistics, while ensuring timely and quality delivery to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vendor Research & Development:
• Assist in conducting market research to identify and evaluate local and international vendors.
• Support in developing vendor relationships and negotiating basic contract terms under supervision.
• Procurement Operations:
• Participate in procurement of materials from both domestic and overseas suppliers.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality specifications.
• Supplier Coordination & Audits:
• Assist in conducting supplier audits to evaluate capabilities and compliance with quality standards.
• Support material inspection activities at vendor premises and prepare basic reports.
• Documentation & Logistics:
• Coordinate with suppliers for proper shipment documentation and despatch clearances.
• Liaise with freight forwarders to track shipments and ensure timely deliveries to the principal plant in the USA.
• Cross-Functional Coordination:
• Work closely with Design, Quality, Materials, and Production departments to ensure procurement aligns with project requirements.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to maintaining smooth communication across departments.
• Supply Chain Support:
• Help monitor inventory levels and follow up to ensure continuity in material supply for production schedules.
• Assist in data entry, purchase order processing, and documentation as required.

• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Qualification:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience in a related field
