Procurement Engineer

is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing technical materials, equipment, and services ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery from suppliers, managing contracts, fostering supplier relationships, and overseeing the supply chain to support Lifecycle Management team operationsThis position reports to the Head of Life Cycle Management & Group Manager and is part of the R&D Hardware/Systems Development team located in Bengaluru – BDC and will be an on-site role.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Identify, assess, and qualify suppliers of engineering parts and equipment for R&D projects
• Review engineering drawings, Bill of Materials and specifications to align procurement with project needs
• Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance across key metrics including quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
• Oversee purchase order management and ensure the timely delivery of parts for project requirements.
• Collaborate with Lifecycle Management team and finance teams on procurement strategy
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on achieving cost savings and optimizing the supply chain
  

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Supply Chain Engineering with 5+ years of experience
• Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement practices
• Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems
• Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
  

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• International Sourcing and Global supplier management
• Basic skills of SolidWorks CAD software
