This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 2500000 - Rs 4000000 (ie INR 25-40 LPA) Min Experience: 8 years Location: Mumbai JobType: full-timeWe are seeking a technically strong and passionate Principal DevOps Engineer or Senior Database Administrator to lead infrastructure, automation, and operations efforts across development and production environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in building secure, high-performing, and scalable cloud infrastructure, with deep expertise in DevOps best practices and database optimization. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Architect and implement scalable and resilient infrastructure for web, mobile, and data-intensive applications on cloud platforms. Manage and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases, with a focus on MongoDB, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and software deployment using modern DevOps toolchains. Develop and maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and restoration policies with minimal RTO and RPO. Administer and support Linux environments across AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and AliCloud. Identify and address performance bottlenecks in applications, infrastructure, and databases. Build and manage a comprehensive monitoring and alerting system to ensure system health and uptime. Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to improve infrastructure automation and operational efficiency. Design high-availability architecture with automated failover and minimal manual intervention. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 8-10 years of hands-on experience in building and managing high-volume, scalable microservices on cloud infrastructure. Strong expertise in Linux/Unix system administration and Python/Shell scripting. In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, Auto Scaling, VPC, Lambda); familiarity with GCP and Azure is a plus. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Chef, GitLab CI/CD. Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, CloudWatch, or similar. Deep understanding of Java-based application stacks, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Kafka, microservices, and caching strategies. Strong background in database performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design. Proven experience in enterprise application lifecycle management and 24/7 production support. Knowledge of DevOps and IT operations best practices in high-availability environments. Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
