Role Summary
Software Developer who supports senior developers in coding, testing, debugging and maintaining software to meet project goals. Works under the guidance of senior team members and escalates issues as appropriate.
We will count on you to:
- Assist in writing, testing and debugging backend and integration code to meet sprint and project requirements.
- Work with API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger YAML) and with Apigee for API proxies and API management tasks as directed.
- Follow coding standards and participate in code reviews with senior developers.
- Use GitHub for source control, branch management and pull request workflows.
- Help maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, tests and deployments.
- Develop and support Node.js services and work with MongoDB for data storage.
- Containerize services using Docker and assist with deploying to Kubernetes; support basic observability/monitoring tasks and escalate issues to platform/DevOps teams.
- Provide technical support to internal clients for existing applications, triage incidents and escalate to senior staff when needed.
- Monitor support trends and system performance; report findings and suggested fixes to senior team members.
- Maintain documentation (runbooks, API docs, deployment steps) and update YAML/Swagger definitions as required.
What you need to have:
Skills & Experience
- Basic hands-on experience with:
- Node.js development
- Git/GitHub workflows (branching, PRs)
- CI/CD concepts and tools (pipeline creation, automated testing/deployment)
- Docker for containerization
- Reading and editing OpenAPI/Swagger YAML definitions
- Good troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn monitoring and operational practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under guidance from senior developers.
Nice-to-have
- Experience or exposure to Apigee (API proxy configuration, policies).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes deployments
- Prior exposure to AngularJS (Angular 1) frontend code.
Reporting & environment
- Works closely with senior software developers and DevOps engineers; follows established processes and escalates complex or production issues.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 12 months experience as Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer
- Should have at least “On track” or above in last appraisal
- Should not be under any Performance Continuity Plan, or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 months
- Should not have applied for any other IJP within Marsh McLennan in the last 3 month
