Job Description

Job Title: Primary English Facilitator
Department: Primary School
Reporting To: Primary Coordinator / Academic Head
Curriculum: CBSE / CIE

Job Purpose:

To deliver high-quality English language instruction to primary grade students, nurturing foundational skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The facilitator will encourage creativity, language confidence, and a lifelong love for learning through engaging and age-appropriate pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities: Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver interactive and creative English lessons tailored to the developmental needs of primary students.
  • Focus on building vocabulary, grammar, phonics, comprehension, and creative expression.
  • Employ varied teaching strategies to cater to individual learning styles and differentiated instruction.
  • Integrate storytelling, drama, games, and technology to enhance language learning.

Curriculum Implementation

  • Develop and execute lesson plans in alignment with curriculum objectives and school guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to design thematic units and cross-curricular integration.
  • Use assessments (formative and summative) to track progress and guide instructional practices.

Student Support

  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and risk-taking.
  • Identify and support students with learning needs through remedial or enrichment activities.
  • Promote reading culture through guided reading sessions, book clubs, and library integration.

Assessment & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student performance and development.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and communicate progress to parents during PTMs.
  • Prepare and submit assessment data and report cards as per academic schedules.

Professional Development & Collaboration

  • Participate in staff training, workshops, and professional learning communities.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers for interdisciplinary projects and school events.
  • Contribute actively to co-curricular activities, school programs, and assemblies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English / Education or a related field.
  • B.Ed. or Diploma in Education (mandatory for CBSE setup).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant teaching experience in a primary school.
  • Exposure to phonics-based instruction and early literacy programs is desirable.
