Description
The Plant Manager role at Schreiber Foods involves providing leadership and direction to partners at a plant to ensure continuous improvement in cost, quality, and service of products. This is achieved through fostering teamwork at the plant level and collaborating with cross-functional teams including suppliers, other Schreiber Foods groups, and customers. The Plant Manager plays a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a plant culture that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities of the Plant Manager include developing and maintaining fair HR and personnel programs, leading initiatives to enhance performance in cost, quality, and service areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment, and optimizing production processes. The incumbent is also responsible for representing Schreiber Foods in interactions with regulatory agencies, local customers, and the community. Additionally, the Plant Manager defines and reviews key performance indicators (KPIs), addresses shipping and transportation needs, and oversees capital expenditures for equipment and facilities. In terms of personnel management, the Plant Manager provides coaching and career development guidance to staff members, actively seeks market insights, and supports a culture of Process Excellence and teamwork. Compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, as well as customer requirements, is a critical aspect of the role. This includes interpreting and communicating customer requirements to plant production groups and ensuring the implementation of procedures to meet these requirements. Key requirements for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Dairy Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with 7-10 years of experience in Food Manufacturing and similar roles within a mid to large-sized manufacturing facility. Fluency in English and Portuguese is essential. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, resilience, problem-solving capabilities, and a desire to grow and embrace new challenges. Proficiency in Process Excellence tools, knowledge of food regulations, and budget planning skills are also crucial. Moreover, the Plant Manager should exhibit an ownership attitude, share best practices with other plants, manage capital projects, support the local community in line with Schreiber's values, and handle stressful situations calmly. Proficiency in PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and willingness to travel up to 15% annually are additional requirements for the role.
