Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Plant Manager to oversee all daily operations of our food processing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while meeting quality standards and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of food manufacturing, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations & Production Management

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the food processing plant.
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for plant performance.

2. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all production activities comply with food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).
  • Oversee implementation of quality control and assurance systems.
  • Liaise with QA/QC departments to handle product issues and audits.
  • Maintain documentation for regulatory inspections and certifications.

3. Team Leadership & Staff Management

  • Supervise and lead production, maintenance, QA, and warehouse teams.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure skill and performance levels meet requirements.
  • Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and SOPs.

4. Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Ensure proper maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and manage breakdowns.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spares and oversee equipment upgrades or installation.

5. Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Monitor and control operational costs, waste, and resource consumption.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for operations, staffing, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.

6. Safety & Environmental Responsibility

  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards and sustainability goals.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7–15 years of experience in food manufacturing/processing, with at least 3–5 years in a plant leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of food production processes, GMP, HACCP, and safety protocols.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, MS Office, and production planning tools.
