Role & responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records of all pipes, tubes, and other materials, including details like size, length, material, and quantity. Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile physical stock with system records and report discrepancies. Monitor stock levels and establish reorder points for high-turnover items to prevent stockouts. Generate inventory reports for management review. Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock, verifying that all deliveries match the purchase orders. Check for any discrepancies, damages, or shortages and generate a Material Discrepancy Report if necessary. Role & responsibilities 1. Production Management Plan, organize, and oversee the entire production process of seamless pipes. Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved. Optimize machine utilization (pilger mills, extrusion, drawing machines, heat treatment furnaces, pickling lines, etc.). Implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and increase output. 2. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure all products meet required standards (ASTM, ASME, EN, DIN, ISO). Monitor NDT processes (UT, RT, Eddy Current, PMI, Hydro-testing, etc.). Coordinate with QA/QC teams to maintain documentation and certification. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry norms. 3. Maintenance & Equipment Management Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of all plant equipment. Reduce machine downtime by coordinating with mechanical and electrical teams. Approve maintenance schedules and oversee spare parts inventory. 4. Workforce & Team Management Lead and supervise production supervisors, engineers, and workers. Provide training for safety, quality, and operational excellence. Promote discipline, teamwork, and high morale among staff. 5. Safety & Environment Enforce strict adherence to plant safety rules and PPE usage. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Implement pollution control measures (acid fumes, wastewater, noise control, etc.). 6. Inventory & Raw Material Control Monitor availability of raw materials (billets, hollows, coils) and consumables. Coordinate with purchase and stores for timely procurement. Minimize wastage and scrap generation. 7. Cost Control & Budgeting Optimize production cost through efficient resource planning. Monitor energy consumption, waste reduction, and consumables usage. Prepare annual budgets and monitor adherence. 8. Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with sales, dispatch, logistics, and management for smooth operations. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and performance reports. Attend management review meetings and provide updates on KPIs. 9. Continuous Improvement Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices. Drive automation and modernization projects. Benchmark plant performance against industry standards. 10. Compliance & Documentation Ensure proper documentation for ISO audits, customer audits, and statutory requirements. Maintain records for production, quality, safety, and maintenance activities. Preferred candidate profile -: 1. Educational Qualification Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy / Production Engineering Additional certification in Quality, NDT (Level II), Welding, TPM, Lean, or Safety is an advantage. 2. Industry Experience 315 years of experience in stainless steel seamless pipes manufacturing , preferably in: Cold Pilger Mill (CPM) Cold Draw Bench Heat Treatment (Solution Annealing) Rotary Piercing / Extrusion Pickling & Passivation Straightening & Cutting Hydro Testing / Eddy Current Testing Finishing & Dispatch Experience in oil & gas, power, boilers, pharmaceuticals, chemical process industries is desirable. 3. Technical Skills Strong understanding of: SS grades (304, 316, 321, 347, Duplex, Super Duplex, etc.) Pipe manufacturing processes (hot, cold, pilgering, drawing) Heat treatment cycles Dimensional control, surface finishing Hands-on knowledge of NDT UT, ECT, HT, PMI Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, EN, ISO standards (e.g., ASTM A312, A213, A269, A789) Awareness of production planning, maintenance, and safety norms 4.
