Role & responsibilities

Job Title: Plant HR Head

Location: Wada, Maharashtra

Human Resource Management:

• Develop and implement plant-specific HR strategies aligned with corporate HR policies

and business objectives.

• Manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, and deployment of plant personnel (blue-

collar and white-collar).

Design and drive employee engagement initiatives & Rewards & recognition

blue-collar workforc

• Performance Management: Facilitate the PMS cycle and ensure alignment with KRAs.

• Training & Development: Identify skill gaps and coordinate technical and behavioural

training interventions. Define, plan, develop, and implement HR development initiatives

in consultation with COEs (L&D, PMS, HR Operations, etc.) and interact regularly with

stakeholders.

• Compensation & Benefits: Oversee payroll, statutory benefits, and incentive programs.

• Design and implement blue-collar attrition control/retention initiatives.

• Design and implement talent retention strategies for key personnel in M-staff.

• People Analytics: Use HR metrics and cost data to analyze trends, track efficiency, and

offer insights to the leadership team.

• Create and implement the committees under the law, as well as EE Committees, Canteen

Committees, Safety Committees, etc.

• Knowledge on talent management, i.e., Drafting JD, Job evaluation, participating in talent

council, identifying the Critical roles & succession planning, and identifying high-potential

employees & deriving career planning and career enhancement programs.

2) Industrial Relations:

The Wada Plant particularly, presents a complex industrial relations landscape, characterized

by the presence of multiple unions representing permanent workers, contract labour,

apprentices, and trainees. The position entails managing this multi-union environment by

developing and executing effective IR strategies, ensuring constructive engagement with

diverse unions, and maintaining organizational harmony while safeguarding business

interests. The incumbent will be accountable for collective bargaining, grievance redressal,

dispute resolution, and long-term settlements, along with strict adherence to statutory

compliance under applicable labour legislations. The role further demands proactive

stakeholder management, anticipation of potential flashpoints, and creation of sustainable

engagement mechanisms to maintain industrial peace, productivity, and alignment with the

companys strategic objectives.

• Ensure harmonious industrial relations by maintaining proactive and constructive

relationships with unions and workmen.

• Handle collective bargaining, long-term settlements, and negotiations with trade

unions.

• Administer disciplinary procedures, domestic inquiries, and grievance redressal

mechanisms.

• Ensure timely compliance with applicable labour laws (Factories Act, ID Act, etc.).

• Engage with local government bodies and labour departments to manage compliance,

inspections, and liaison.

3) Legal & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to all labour laws and statutory obligations such as PF, ESI,

Gratuity, Bonus, etc.

• Conduct audits and ensure legal risk mitigation at the plant.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for licenses, permits, and labour compliance.

• Responsible for handling all Legal & Court Cases related to the plant. Will get support

from Corporate Legal team the External Legal consultants in this.

4) Liaisoning:

The role also requires extensive liaison with external authorities and statutory bodies,

including labour departments, factory inspectorates, ESI, PF, and other regulatory

agencies. The incumbent must ensure timely statutory submissions, maintain

constructive relationships with government officials, and represent the company’s

position during inspections, conciliations, and hearings. Effective liaisoning is critical

not only for compliance but also for safeguarding the organization’s reputation,

mitigating risks, and facilitating smooth industrial relations in a multi-union

environment.

5) Plant Administration:

• Oversee general administration, including canteen, transport, security, and

housekeeping.

• Ensure EHS compliance in collaboration with Safety & Plant Ops teams.

Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within

parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

• Preference will be given to candidates having experience in similar / local industry.

• Having a greenfield knowledge will be excellent but not mandatory.

• Excellent communication skill in English, Marathi (Must), Hindi, and Gujarati (preferable).

• Strong with compliances, dealing with statutory departments. Should have experience of

handling CSR requirements.

• Solid experience of manpower planning & handling, hiring blue-collar permanent /

temporary / contractual workers, relationship with ITI colleges, Diploma colleges etc.

• Sound Experience of hiring NAPS (Statutory Apprentices) & NETAPS (NEEM Trainees).

• Can work independently with minimum supervision.

• Should have stable profile, no frequent job changes.

• Currently the Plant is Non-Unionized. However strong experience in dealing with unions is

preferable. Should have knowledge and experience of conducting negotiations with Union

on Long Term Wage

blue collar workforce hiring).
