Position Overview:

Plant Head

Responsibilities:

Production Management:

• Develop and implement production plans to meet sales demands while optimizing resource utilization.
• Monitor and manage production schedules, ensuring timely and efficient manufacturing of confectionery and snacks products.
• Ensure adherence to quality control standards, product specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership:

• Build and lead a competent and motivated production team, fostering a positive work culture and high morale.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and mentoring, and identify opportunities for employee growth and development.

Safety and Compliance:

• Uphold and enforce safety protocols and best practices throughout the plant to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory standards set out but FSSAI, weights and measures, PCB etc.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to enhance production processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to drive productivity gains.

Equipment and Maintenance:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and disruptions in production.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

Inventory Management:

• Work closely with the Supply Chain team to manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels efficiently.
• Monitor inventory turnover and implement strategies to optimize stock levels.

Cost Control:

• Analyze production costs and implement measures to control expenses without compromising quality and safety.
• Optimize production processes to minimize waste and maximize resource utilization.

Communication and Reporting:

• Report regularly to senior management on production performance, key metrics, and any significant challenges or achievements.
• Foster clear and effective communication channels between production staff, departments, and management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Technology

  , or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in a leadership role within the confectionery and snacks manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards in food manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
