PHARMA GENERAL MANAGER (SALES)

Job Summary:

v The General Manager (Sales) is responsible for leading and managing the sales function of the pharmaceutical company.

v This role involves setting sales targets, developing strategies, managing the sales team, and ensuring the effective marketing and promotion of the company’s pharmaceutical products.

v The GM (Sales) will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and ensuring the company's products are well-represented in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to develop targeted sales approaches.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance and motivation to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Hire, train, and onboard new sales team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and track progress against goals.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to senior management.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, hospitals, healthcare professionals, and distributors.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements with key clients.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
  • Develop the sales department’s budget and allocate resources effectively to achieve sales targets.
  • Monitor and control sales expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the marketing, product development, and regulatory teams to ensure the smooth launch and promotion of new products.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Market Intelligence:
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and customer behavior to adapt sales strategies.
  • Provide insights on market developments to senior management and suggest improvements or new approaches.
  • Compliance and Ethical Standards:
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations, ethical standards, and company policies.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest regulations and guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

o A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus.

  • Experience:

o 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or a related industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

o Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a sales team to meet or exceed targets.

o In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, products, and regulations.

  • Skills & Competencies:

o Strong leadership and team management skills.

o Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

o Ability to think strategically and adapt to changing market conditions.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o Proficient in using CRM software, MS Office, and other sales tools.

o Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

o Frequent domestic travel may be required to meet clients and attend industry events..

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹125,000.00 per year
