PHARMA GENERAL MANAGER (SALES) Job Summary: v The General Manager (Sales) is responsible for leading and managing the sales function of the pharmaceutical company. v This role involves setting sales targets, developing strategies, managing the sales team, and ensuring the effective marketing and promotion of the company’s pharmaceutical products. v The GM (Sales) will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and ensuring the company's products are well-represented in the market. Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company revenue and growth targets. Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments. Analyze market trends and customer needs to develop targeted sales approaches. Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance and motivation to ensure performance goals are met. Hire, train, and onboard new sales team members. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts and track progress against goals. Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to senior management. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, hospitals, healthcare professionals, and distributors. Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner. Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements with key clients. Budgeting and Resource Allocation : Develop the sales department’s budget and allocate resources effectively to achieve sales targets. Monitor and control sales expenses to ensure cost-effective operations. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product development, and regulatory teams to ensure the smooth launch and promotion of new products. Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers. Market Intelligence : Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and customer behavior to adapt sales strategies. Provide insights on market developments to senior management and suggest improvements or new approaches. Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations, ethical standards, and company policies. Keep up-to-date with the latest regulations and guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry. Qualifications: Education: o A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus. Experience: o 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or a related industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. o Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a sales team to meet or exceed targets. o In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, products, and regulations. Skills & Competencies: o Strong leadership and team management skills. o Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. o Ability to think strategically and adapt to changing market conditions. o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Proficient in using CRM software, MS Office, and other sales tools. o Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. o Frequent domestic travel may be required to meet clients and attend industry events.. The role includes leading a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Medical Representatives (MRs), and other field staff to achieve sales targets, grow market share, and ensure implementation of marketing strategies in alignment with the company's objectives. Key Responsibilities: 1. Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve zonal sales targets. Monitor and drive primary and secondary sales. Ensure effective territory coverage and customer segmentation. 2. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of ASMs and MRs. Conduct regular training, fieldwork, and performance reviews.
